Professor Bruce Dunphy,
MB, ChB, MD, PhD, MEd, FRCOG, FRANZCOG, CREI
Medical Director and Founder
Bruce is a Brisbane-based Fertility Specialist who trained in prestigious centres in the United Kingdom including the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, St Mary's Hospital in London and the Harris Birthright Centre for Reproductive Medicine. He went on to be a pioneer and leader in fertility care in major hospitals and universities in North America and Australia. With several decades of practical experience to build on his qualifications, Bruce is an internationally-recognised expert and he has taught many leading gynaecologists.
Bruce's Approach to Fertility Care
Bruce is the Monash IVF Medical Director for Queensland. He offers the full range of Reproductive Endocrine and Fertility care including managing endocrine disorders such as PCOS, ovulation induction, managing male infertility, endoscopic surgery for endometriosis, tubal reconstructive surgery and reversal of sterilization and assisted reproduction including in-vitro fertilization (IVF). As well as being an expert fertility specialist and fertility surgeon, Bruce has been a laboratory director in two major IVF programs and his research into male infertility has been cited by the World Health Organization in their clinical and laboratory manuals.
It's important to Bruce that you're comfortable, you feel heard, your questions are answered and you're treated with respect, compassion and understanding. Bruce practices the art of balancing complicated aspects of science and medicine with your unique situation. While many couples do end up going through IVF treatment, Bruce doesn't make any assumptions about the type of treatment that you will require. Instead he assesses your personal situation and presents you with an individually tailored opinion about your best options for care, whether it requires IVF or something entirely different like diagnosing and treating problems with ovulation, endometriosis, treating blocked fallopian tubes or male infertility. Bruce focuses on the best approach for you, rather than having a 'one-size-fits-all' mentality. He will work with you to tailor fertility solutions specifically to your needs. Bruce's philosophy underpins the Bubtree Approach to Fertility Care.
