Dr. Brad Armstrong

Dr. Brad Armstrong

Being a father to two children and with a third on the way, Brad understands the high level of standards that pregnant women expect and deserve. Brad enjoys as much time as possible with his family and having spent a period of his medical training working night shifts whilst being a stay at home dad with his 2 kids he has a healthy appreciation of what new parents go through.

Brad grew up in Brisbane and trained locally at the University of Queensland. His final years at medical school and residency as a junior doctor were spent in North Queensland and he commenced training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cairns Base Hospital in 2001. During his medical training, Brad has worked all over Queensland including Townsville, Palm Island, Cairns, Thursday Island, the Mater Mother's Hospital, Logan Hospital, Redlands Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Brad was involved in Surf Life Saving and rowing surfboats competitively until recently, when establishing a private practice meant that this pursuit had to go on the backburner! Brad is a big believer in appropriate levels of physical exercise and activity during pregnancy.

Brad continues to educate himself at every opportunity as well as to teach midwives and medical students.

In general, Brad has a non-interventional approach to pregnancy and labour and is more than happy to allow a natural birthing process continue unless intervention is required for the safety of the mother and/or baby.
